The Cleveland Connection

A young Serbian woman enlists Milan’s help in finding her missing elderly grandfather. To add to Milan’s troubles, his columnist friend Ed Stahl is being threatened and harassed by some mob guys who took offense to one of his columns. A vicious murder is committed—and Milan wonders whether it’s the first of many.

“Roberts is one of the best crime writers around, and The Cleveland Connection is his best effort yet. The plot has all the right ingredients—danger, suspense, intrigue, action—in all the right amounts. Milan Jacovich is the kind of guy we want on our side when the chips are down…” (Booklist)

Excerpt: Trinetti wasn’t smiling at all any more. “Look, what’s your act, rosy cheeks? I mean, I’m with some people here…”

“Chill out, Nello. I’m not some shoe clerk you can slap around like Wade Kooby.”

That one got his eyebrows up. It was nice to know I’d finally impressed him. “Then who are you?”

I stood up. “I’m a guy you don’t fuck with, Nello. Because if you do, I’ll eat your lunch.”
